Katie grew up with the Dwyer kids. Her father and Steve's parents attended the United States Military Academy at West Point together and have been close family friends for years. Two months after Steve was born, Katie followed. Through the years, the families made a point to see each other over long road trips, West Point reunions, weddings, holidays and of course, the annual Mexico Beach 4th of July trip! Steve was as close to Katie as a brother. He has left a void in her life that will never be filled.

Katie lives in Alpharetta, Georgia and works for a Professional Services firm overseeing client relationships and growth strategies. She appreciates the opportunity to honor Steve through the DWYERFIRE GOLDSTAR Foundation. She considers her efforts one small way to give back to such deserving families and a beautiful tribute to a man who was truly a man among men.
